Betty Young Park | Completed 2024

At the corner of Woodward Way and Alton Road, a former residential lot has been transformed into a neighborhood park honoring longtime neighbor Betty Young. FEMA/GEMA purchased the property to remove the home from the floodplain, and the Young family envisioned a lasting community green space in Betty Young’s honor.

Through the efforts of the Peachtree Battle Alliance and the Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy, the property was designated as a City of Atlanta park. The Young family generously funded the park, creating a neighborhood gem for residents to enjoy for years to come.
